Land Registry alerts to prevent titles from being stolen

Homes which are empty, rented out or mortgage-free are particularly vulnerable to having their titles stolen and being sold behind the back of the real owner. The Land Registry has set up an email alert system. Owners who register for it get an email alert when there is certain activity on the title to the property. The service is free.
